1st person 3DS RPGs?

I’m trying to figure out the interest in 1st person RPGs on the 3DS.

Shin Megami Tensai IV and Etrian Odyssey IV (among others) both use this perspective for the combat, and it feels graphically lazy to me.

I like being able to see more than a portrait of my party members :/

I’m liking Fire Emblem: Awakening’s graphic design a lot though.

In other news, the 3DS XL fixes basically all the design flaws I felt in the original.
